Welcome and thank you for visiting the Jonkheijm research group.
We are an interdisciplinary research group and currently focused on research based in chemistry that interface organic, physical organic, chemical biology and biomaterials research. Please use the links above to learn more about our research group. Collaborations and feedback are most welcome.
Our team of BSc, MSc, PhD students and postdoctoral research associates are exposed to many diverse research areas such as synthetic chemistry, material science, molecular biology, live-cell high-resolution microscopy, biochemistry and cell biology tools. The main long-term research goal is to interface supramolecular chemistry and material science with cell biology to study a range of complex processes related to cell behavior, to develop bioanalytical tools for various biotechnologies and to develop and employ biomaterials for regenerative medicine applications. We collaborate on these topics with different groups located at the University of Twente, University of Eindhoven, ETH Zurich, University of Munster, University of Utrecht, University of Maastricht, IMN Saarbrucken, Limerick University, University of Parma, Tsinghua University Beijing, University of Toronto, University of Leeds.
Our team is supported by our technicians Marcel de Bruine, Richard Egberink, Regine van der Hee and Bianca Snellink, and by our secretaries Nicole Haitjema and Izabel Can-Katalanc. Our group is located in the cluster Organic and Materials Chemistry and Technology of the Department of Science and Technology of the University of Twente.
Our lab is part of the MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology and the MIRA Institute for Biomedical Research and Technical Medicine.
